Christmas gift making

This year I don’t have too many Christmas gifts to think about and I really want to reduce my fabric stash so I have made a small fabric bucket/bin bag to pack with local gourmet treats from the Bellarine as a gift. I’ve used some offcuts from my earlier quilting project and some leftover canvas from my stash so once again, no new fabric purchased to make this project!

The pattern is the Sierra Tote and Bin by Indigobird that I bought via Etsy at least a year ago and haven’t tried making until now. I’ve made it up in some natural organic cotton canvas I bought at Fibresmith earlier this year, with linings in the leftover Fableism fabrics I used in the quilt I made last month. All the pieces are rectangular so it was fairly easy to cut and sew once I had the pattern printed and taped together. I love how the handles work on the bin version; if you are making the tote version the main difference is that the handles come straight up from the centre side panels instead. My only issue is that I may have bought a tad too many local gourmet treats to fill it up.

Still no waiting for the grandchild to be born so I may have to find another project to do tomorrow.
