Bags of requests

This month I’ve made three bags, each of them a request from a friend or family member and all different. In addition to the backpack I finished earlier in the month from my stashed fabric, I have made a small project bin for a friend from her stashed fabric and a larger divided basket for my daughter from my own stashed fabric. Look at me, stash-busting everywhere 😂

There is a separate post about the Making Backpack so I will skip over that. The second bag was the Sierra Bin from Indigobirddesign. I bought the pattern on Etsy years ago but had not used it until I made a project bin for myself last year. One of my friends had bought the same canvas from Fibresmith and wanted the same project bin but was busy making dresses for her sister-in-law and hadn’t touched the fabric. So she passed it over to me and I whipped up this project bin in an afternoon.

The last bag is another Divided Basket, similar to the one I made for my daughter last year. She is using it for nappies and other baby items and decided it would be nice to give her brother-in-law as a baby gift. The pattern is a Noodlehead digital pattern and I used some of the organic canvas from Fibresmith along with some lovely Fableism cotton I bought at Amitié. Neither of these last two bags needed any zips or extra notions apart from some offcuts of interfacing and webbing from other projects. I do like making bags with zips and other closures but it can be so hard to source the right length, style and colour for a bag at times.
